KCORC is pleased to announce the launch of a new Geothermal Committee, created to support the growing global interest in geothermal Organic Rankine Cycle systems and strengthen collaboration across the sector.
As geothermal ORC applications continue to expand worldwide, the new committee will provide a dedicated platform for ORC manufacturers, operators, researchers, investors, and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge, align priorities, and promote the further development of commercial geothermal ORC projects.
The initiative was proposed at the latest KCORC General Assembly and is intended to help unlock the full potential of geothermal ORC technology. Its work will focus on positioning geothermal ORC systems as a competitive and bankable solution in the global energy market, while showcasing proven commercial success stories and scalable applications across different geological and market conditions.
The committee will start its activities in July with an initial online kick-off meeting. During its first months, the committee aims to develop a clear, industry-supported strategic vision and prepare a first white paper on the technological readiness and different configurations of geothermal ORC systems. This white paper is expected to be presented at the GEMS workshop in November.
The current core team of the committee includes Paolo Silva, Owen Pryor, and Christopher Schifflechner.
Stakeholders interested in joining the committee and participating in the online kick-off meeting are invited to complete the registration form by June 24. It will also remain possible to join the committee at a later stage.
